  • In a mixing bowl, add all dry ingredients in.
  • In separate mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring to blend. Let the batter rest for at least 3 hours or up to a day in refrigerator. Batter may be made 1 day in advance.
  • Preheat your waffle maker and cook the batter according to the maker manufacturer's instruction.
  • Serve waffles immediately with your choice of toppings and sides.

Notes

Variations and alternatives:
  • Buttermilk waffles - replace the same amount of milk to buttermilk then you have your buttermilk waffles
  • Pecan waffles - sprinkle chopped pecans over the waffle batter as soon as it is poured onto the waffle maker
  • Pancakes - classic pancakes are best alternatives to waffles or even better serve them together
  • Vietnamese style hot dogs - not your regular hot dogs. These hot dogs are just like Belgian waffles which made with whipped egg white to achieve such light texture; and stuffed with cream cheese or your choice of stuffing.
